I’m just a girl that loves NASCAR racing. I have it in my Blood. I remember the Pure Excitement of watch my Grandfather mix it up with the likes of Billy Rafter, Ed Ortiz and Richie Evans racing Modified Sportsman cars in the Northeast. See picture below. My Hero !!! Never ever saw anyone who could drive like that.
Then it was my Dad running Sprint cars and Modifieds………..The Noise, the smell……….. It’s still in me….. No chance for Girls to drive then……
I have an idea to get some excitement back in the sport. Read on and tell me what you think. Go ahead, Dump on me if you wish, but I see the sport going down the drain if something is not done..
Getting rid of the C.O.T. was a good thing. Kind of like watching a bunch of shoeboxes. Remember when you knew the winner would drive a Winged Plymouth or the day when it would surely be a Hudson Hornet? Simply because the other cars were not competetive.
First, I remember the days when the Inverted start was the rule. Points leader starts last. Simple! Back to the Basics. How to do it………Invert the top 35 for each race. Driver that is 35th in Points starts 9th. Points leader 43rd. No Qualifing for the Top 35. The 1st 8 positions are for those outside the top 35. These slots would be by qualifing process. I would go to Bristol to see that.
Besides guys, you would get to see danica up front all the time.
Like most Girls , I want to see a girl do good in the sport, but Danica????????? What a joke. A pretty face brings money to a race team. She gets the BEST equipment then rides around for a top 20 finish. TOP 20 WOW! Wait a second , The undamaged cars she beat in a race was Maybe one or two? Get real, the cars she finishes ahead of are either damaged or did not have a prayer of being a top 10 car. Any race where she might actually have to turn the steering wheel will result in a top 20 at best. Wouldn’t you like to see what a driver like Dave Blaney or mike Bliss or any number of drivers do with a car like what she is given? Probably should stick up for the girl, but It irritates me everytime I see it………..And always, there is the “trackside” reporter sticking a microphone in her face saying “Nice Job Danica, another top 20″ GAG.
Oh yeah, LUCKY DOG???? Get real, You lose a lap, Too Bad! I’m thinking you need to race back…..

HMMM, you have some good arguments……I came from the NE also and I remember those names. I used to race stockcars in Western NY and Canada a long time ago…..Racing was simple then…….A thumbs up from me !
